La journée d'identitée

We had such an excellent Identity Day! Merci to all the parents who joined us. The friends were super excited to share and talk about their items. We are thinking of having another mini version next Friday (for friends who forgot or missed the memo to bring in an item). More info will come home Monday.

One Thing We Can Do

Today I was away at a training session. I always love to hear about the many things I can do as a teacher to foster learning in my students. But missing a day of school always makes me realize just how much I love, more than anything, to be with my students! Because at the end of the day, they are the ones who teach me the most. In my work tonight, I came across some photos and a quote that I feel go together beautifully...
"More and more I've come to understand that listening is one of the most important things we can do for one another...

Whether the other be an adult or a child, our engagement in listening to who that person is can often be our greatest gift...

Whether that person is speaking or playing or dancing, building or singing or painting, if we care, we can listen."          Mister Rogers

Drawing Outside

What a beautiful afternoon for drawing outside! We headed out in groups to some of the big rocks where we practised using pencils and erasers to draw what we saw. Afterwards, we sat in a circle and shared what we had chosen to draw, and some of us chose to continue working on our drawings inside...

a tree, a piece of rock, a bamboo and a woodchip
a tree with a bunch of flowers
the road and yellow lines on the road
three bees, a big rock, and a little rock
a tree, one of those pointy things, and this bamboo

 a dandelion

 the bamboo
the worms with blood splatted on them
 the road

a bus, a flag, the grass
 a fence
 a flower tree

It's such fun to draw and share what we see out in the world!
