Painting with cars

Today we set out some toy cars and invited the friends to drive them through paint. It was very exciting!
We started our work on a large sheet of brown paper. It was interesting to see the different types of tracks the wheels made...
After a while, the paper started to get mushy, so we took a vote and decided we'd prefer to make tracks right on the table surface...
This was much better! We soon discovered we could smooth over our tracks and start again. We mixed blue, red, yellow and white finger paints...

We also sprayed some water on the surface now and then to keep things going...

What an excellent, full body art experience!

  1. I know one very car-obsessed child who would have enjoyed this! It explains a lot about his purple skin, too:)

    1. It's true, more paint ended up on hands and arms (and some faces!) than on the table! I had to add more paint to the work surface three times until I thought of the water. Afterwards, I asked a few to go and look in the mirror and see what they could do about their reflections. I just love these moments in our Kindergarten classroom, and I'm pretty sure the kids do, too!
