Learning About Germs

This morning, we talked about getting ill and how we missed our friends who were at home today...
We read a book about germs and the body...
We learned that germs are so small that they can only be seen through a microscope...
When they get into our bodies, they can make us sneeze, cough, give us a tummy ache or a sore throat, or other not-so-fun things. They can do whatever they want! It's like a yucky party! But...
We have good germs in our bodies that can fight back! Our good germ-fighting cells march right up to the bad germs, and...
 ...gobble them up!
We can help fight the bad germs, too. We can drink lots of water and urinate out the bad germs...
We can blow them out of our noses...
 Au revoir, mechants germes!
We can sneeze them out, too! We learned to sneeze and cough into a tissue or in our elbow, and to wash our hands often...
A fever will help us sweat out germs, too...
We figured this would be a perfect day to break out the microscope...

We really, really missed all of our absent friends today. If you are home sick, we hope you will get well very soon!
