The 'ou' Sound

This year's group of students have a tremendous amount of curiosity for learning letter sounds. They regularly ask us to play games involving letter sounds and many students will often choose to write up a storm during play time. At circle time, we have been creating an alphabet together by focusing on one sound to do various activities around that we find meaningful, and finishing off by adding it to our board with a picture of a corresponding French vocabulary word...

This week, we started looking at blended sounds. We chose a story each morning containing several 'ou' words (pronounced oo). There are many, many sound blends in the French language...
